Senior Database Reliability Engineer (ClickUp, Remote: Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Hungary or Czechia)

Administer, monitor and maintain PostgreSQL databases of 250GB and larger in production environments on AWS RDS, Aurora and EC2. Ensure database availability, performance and data integrity through proactive monitoring and maintenance. Perform routine administration including patching, upgrades, vacuuming, reindexing and statistics management. Execute and manage backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures, including regular testing of recovery plans. Handle user access management, roles and database security to ensure compliance with best practices. Perform capacity planning, storage management and growth forecasting. Troubleshoot database issues including performance bottlenecks, locking and contention, and failed jobs, and support application teams with query optimization. Manage migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime, maintain documentation, and participate in on-call incident response.

7 or more years of experience in a senior database administrator or database engineering role. Strong PostgreSQL administration expertise covering backups, recovery and performance tuning. Solid understanding of database security, access control and compliance practices. Experience managing large-scale production databases of 250GB or more. Strong Linux administration capabilities, SQL proficiency and scripting competency in Bash or Python. Familiarity with deploying and operating databases on AWS. Nice to have: database auditing and compliance framework experience, ETL and data pipeline knowledge, high availability, replication and failover experience, exposure to other database systems, and experience supporting enterprise or regulated environments. Must be based in Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Hungary or Czechia; visa sponsorship is not guaranteed.
