Engineering Manager, Billing

Supabase, the open source Firebase alternative, is hiring an Engineering Manager for its Billing team. Supabase is fully remote and hires globally: "We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere." There are no company offices; instead Supabase provides a WeWork membership or co-working allowance usable anywhere in the world.

The Billing team owns plans, subscriptions, usage-based billing, invoices, payments, credits, coupons, taxation, dunning, collections, pricing mechanics, entitlements, and marketplace/partner billing paths, integrating with Stripe and Orb.

As Engineering Manager you will develop team culture in a remote-first, globally distributed setting, run 1:1s, performance reviews, and career coaching, build knowledge distribution across the team to avoid single points of failure, own the Billing roadmap and project management while balancing new capability work against technical debt, manage stakeholder communication and surface risks early, and serve as Incident Commander during billing-system outages, leading blameless post-mortems afterward.

Requirements: 5+ years of engineering background with 3+ years managing remote engineering teams, demonstrated experience managing billing systems at a SaaS, cloud, or developer-tools company, strong technical credibility paired with genuine passion for people management, experience working with remote, asynchronous teams across time zones, and a track record of navigating difficult performance conversations.
