Skills Gap Analyzer
Find out what you are missing before an employer does.
Why this exists
Job descriptions are written to attract, not to inform. A listing might name twelve skills when four actually matter, and there is no way to tell which four from the posting alone. So you either apply to everything and get filtered out, or you talk yourself out of roles you could have done.
The advice you get instead is generic — learn Python, get a certification, build a portfolio. None of it is grounded in what the roles you actually want are asking for right now.
How it works
It reads the real corpus
Your skills are compared against the skills named in live listings on EnRoute Jobs for the role you are targeting — not a static list of what a job title is supposed to need.
It counts, it does not guess
Matches are computed against the posting’s own requirement list. You see how many of the listed skills you cover and exactly which ones, so the result is checkable rather than asserted.
It ranks what to learn
Missing skills are ordered by how often they appear across the roles you are aiming at, so you start with the one that unlocks the most openings rather than the one that sounds most impressive.
What you get
- A match score against a specific role, with the matched and missing skills both named
- How many live roles require each skill you are missing
- A learning plan you can pin to your dashboard and tick off as you go
- A completion badge on your Signal Profile when you finish the plan
What it looks like
Common questions
Where do the required skills come from?+
From the listings themselves. Every active job on EnRoute Jobs carries a structured list of required skills, and your analysis is scored against that corpus for the role and work type you choose. Nothing is invented for the comparison.
Is the score reproducible?+
Yes. Scoring is deterministic — the same skills against the same corpus produce the same result every time. The AI writes the explanation; it does not decide the numbers.
What if I have not built a profile yet?+
You can type your skills in directly. A Signal Profile makes the analysis better, because it can weigh the experience behind each skill rather than the label alone, but it is not required to get a result.
Will it tell me I am unqualified?+
It will tell you what is missing, which sometimes reads that way. The point is to see it before a rejection rather than after — and gaps come with the number of live roles that want them, so you can judge whether closing one is worth your time.
