Develop and maintain the VictoriaTraces distributed tracing solution. Learn about industry tracing solutions and help shape the product roadmap. Improve documentation and the overall user experience. Engage with the open-source community via GitHub, Slack and Telegram, responding to issues and questions. Maintain core functionality and fix issues that affect usability. Simplify code while preserving backward compatibility. Strengthen testing and quality assurance. Ensure alignment with product direction and real user needs.
Two or more years building and operating production systems. Ability to understand, write and review Go code. Understanding of the observability domain and distributed systems. User-focused approach to debugging real-world issues. High ownership and ability to execute tasks independently. Strong written and spoken English required. Preferred: experience with Prometheus or VictoriaMetrics, VictoriaTraces or Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Kubernetes, and open-source contributions. Must be able to work as an independent contractor with a registered business entity, located in an EMEA or APAC time zone.
