Garden & House Help Workaway Volunteer

Barbro, a longtime Algarve resident and Shiatsu practitioner originally from Namibia, hosts Workaway volunteers at her home in the Algarve, Portugal.

You will help with a variety of projects around the house and garden: light gardening (weeding, pruning, compost), DIY projects, painting, and small repairs and maintenance. Typical commitment is around 4 hours a day; some periods (like September) offer a lighter mix of work and leisure time.

In exchange, you stay in a self-catering studio apartment with kitchenette, sitting area, and workspace with strong internet, or occasionally a private bedroom with bathroom in the main house. Barbro typically prepares a shared vegetarian/vegan evening meal; breakfast and lunch are self-catered using the studio kitchenette.

Minimum stay is one week. Maximum two workawayers at a time; couples and independent workers welcome. No specific nationality or age requirement is stated, but you are responsible for arranging your own visa or entry requirements for Portugal.
