Outdoor Instructor – Lapland Winter 2026/27

Davvi Arctic is hiring Outdoor Instructors for the 2026/27 winter season in Finnish Lapland, delivering guided outdoor activities to international guests visiting the Arctic Circle region.

As an Outdoor Instructor, you will lead small groups through activities such as snowshoeing, guided dog-sledding support, snowmobile safaris, cross-country skiing basics, and evening northern lights excursions, depending on your prior experience and the certifications you hold. You will be the face of the guest experience on the snow, balancing safety-first instruction with genuine warmth and storytelling about the Arctic environment and Sámi culture of the region.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise small groups of guests during snow-based outdoor activities
• Deliver clear safety briefings and confirm all equipment is fitted and used correctly
• Adapt activity plans to weather, daylight hours, and each group's skill level
• Maintain and check outdoor gear including skis, snowshoes, sleds, and safety kits
• Provide first-response support in the event of minor incidents on the trail
• Represent the Davvi Arctic brand with professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm
• Support occasional evening programming such as northern lights watches and campfire talks
• Assist with basic guest transport and logistics between the base lodge and activity sites

Requirements:

• EU passport required; UK passport holders may still apply, with applications accepted until August 21, 2026 under separate arrangements
• Previous experience in outdoor instruction, ski/snowboard instruction, mountain leadership, or a related guiding role is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate
• Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in temperatures as low as -20°C
• First aid certification is an asset, or willingness to complete training before the season begins
• Strong spoken English; Finnish, Swedish, German, or other European languages are a plus given the international guest mix
• Physically fit, comfortable on skis or snowshoes, and confident leading groups of mixed ability
• Available for one of two seasonal windows: November through early January, or January through mid-March
