Director, EMEA Government Affairs & Public Policy (Remote, Based Anywhere in Europe)

Set and own Chainguard's European policy strategy. Engage governments, regulators and standards bodies across Europe and the UK. Decide where Chainguard participates through industry coalitions versus direct advocacy. Forecast emerging policy developments relevant to the company, including software supply chain, cybersecurity and open source regulation. Develop policy positions, consultation responses and written submissions. Translate technical concepts into policy language for senior officials. Support product, marketing and revenue teams with policy credibility. Build repeatable processes and relationships for European government affairs, and lead team expansion as the business grows regionally. Travel frequently across Europe.

8+ years in government affairs or public policy. Track record of independently building programs from scratch. Experience engaging senior government officials and regulators. Ability to translate complex technical subjects for policy audiences. Comfort operating in ambiguity. Excellent written and verbal communication. Degree or equivalent experience.
