Commis Chef – Winter 2026/27

Ski Miquel is recruiting Commis Chefs for its chalet-hotels for the 2026/27 winter season.

This is the entry point into the Ski Miquel kitchen team, working under the Chef and supporting the full food operation across breakfast, afternoon tea and evening service for around 25 to 40 guests a week.

For anyone with some kitchen experience who wants a first season in the mountains while continuing to develop professionally, this is one of the more accessible routes in.

Please note this position is currently only open to EU passport holders, or those who already have the right to work in the European Union.

ABOUT SKI MIQUEL

Ski Miquel has been running inclusive ski holidays across Europe for over 40 years. It began in the early 1980s when the founder stayed in a sub-standard chalet-hotel with dirty bedding, unhelpful staff and second-rate food, and decided he could do considerably better.

Four decades on it remains family-run, with a small core UK team and 5 or 6 staff in each chalet-hotel. Around 80 to 85 percent of bookings each year are repeat guests or word-of-mouth recommendations, which is why the company describes itself as the ski industry's best-kept secret.

They are explicit about who they want: people who share their outlook and want guests to have a genuine Ski Miquel Experience rather than just another holiday.

WHERE YOU WOULD BE BASED

Ski Miquel operates chalet-hotels across the Alps and Pyrenees, including Saint-Martin-de-Belleville in the 3 Vallees, Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland, Baqueira in Spain, and Andorra.

For winter 2026/27 they are launching the Chalet-Hotel Claire in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, marking a return to the 3 Vallees.

ELIGIBILITY, AND WHY THIS ROLE IN PARTICULAR

Ski Miquel currently lists only four roles as genuinely open for winter 2026/27, and all four require the right to work in the EU. This is one of them.

Their other positions, including Resort Manager, Chalet-Hotel Manager, Supervising Chalet Host, Chalet Host, British Chef, Chef de Partie, Bar and Ski Concierge and Baqueira Resort Rep, are effectively waiting-list only. You can still apply and will be offered a first-round interview, but if successful you go onto a waiting list rather than into a role.

So if you hold an EU passport or existing right to work in the European Union, this is one of the few Ski Miquel positions you can actually be hired into for the coming season.
