Chef – Winter 2026/27

Chilly Powder

Morzine, FranceSeasonalMidPosted 2h ago

Description

Chilly Powder is recruiting Chefs for the 2026/27 winter season in Morzine.

The kitchen team works together across the chalet-hotel and the catered chalets, preparing everything served on site: breakfast, afternoon tea, children's food, staff meals and a five-course dinner each evening. Menus are prepared each morning in the main chalet, Au Coin du Feu, alongside an experienced Head Chef.

Chilly Powder describe food as one of the main reasons guests return every year, and are looking for someone talented and creative but relaxed enough to fit a chalet team.

**About Chilly Powder**

Chilly Powder has run luxury catered and self-catered chalet holidays in Morzine since 1996, across three chalets in the Portes du Soleil ski area. The ski pistes from Morzine Avoriaz run down to their back garden, and the main cable car is a short walk from all three properties.

They describe the atmosphere as one where you are more than a team member regardless of role, and note that many Chalet Hosts, Chefs, Room Assistants and Nannies return season after season.

**What is included in the employment package**

- **A French contract** with a very competitive wage
- Working 5 or 6 days per week
- A shared bedroom in nice accommodation
- Full training and development opportunities for all roles
- Hearty homemade meals while on duty
- A fun, friendly and professional team atmosphere

**How the season works**

The whole team arrives in Morzine in **mid-December to begin training**, and the season runs through to **April**.

Chilly Powder is explicit on one point: only apply if you are available for the **entire season from December to April**. Part-season applications are not what they are looking for.

**Right to work — an important middle ground**

Because of French employment rules, Chilly Powder can only accept applicants with the right to work in France. In practice that means:

- **EU passport holders** — eligible
- **Non-EU passport holders with a French working visa** — eligible
- **British passport holders** — eligible, but you must be prepared to go through the process of obtaining a French working visa yourself

That last point places Chilly Powder between the two other Alps operators on this board. Skiworld accepts UK and EU holders and guides you through permits. Consensio cannot accept UK passport holders at all. Chilly Powder sits in between: British applicants are welcome, but the visa process is on you.

**The recruitment process**

Send your **covering letter, CV and a recent photograph** to the email address on this listing.

They aim to respond quickly on whether they want to progress, usually followed by an informal Skype interview. A reference is normally taken from a previous employer before that interview. Successful candidates receive an offer letter and then join the whole team in Morzine for training in mid-December.

**Summer work also exists**

Chilly Powder runs summer activity holidays in Morzine as well as the winter ski operation, and also has a property in Provence. If a winter season does not suit your timing, it is worth asking about summer roles when you write to them.
