Chalet Manager / Front of House – Winter 2026/27
Ski Weekender
Description
Ski Weekender is recruiting a Chalet Manager for the Aravis Lodge for the 2026/27 winter season, in the Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz area of the Northern French Alps.
You would take lead responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Lodge, overseeing and leading the team to deliver an excellent guest experience while ensuring the integrity of the brand across all areas of the chalet.
This is the senior in-resort position, suiting someone with prior chalet or hospitality management experience who wants a season with real ownership.
**About Ski Weekender**
Ski Weekender is the winter brand of Karibuni, specialising in short-break ski and snowboard holidays with over 20 years in the business. They operate the Aravis Lodge in the Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz area, alongside partner hotels across the Northern French Alps — Samoëns, Saint Gervais, Les Contamines and Arêches-Beaufort.
The Aravis region is described as offering over 220km of piste and remaining relatively quiet compared with the better-known resorts.
**Recruitment for winter 2026/27 is open now.**
**The package**
Ski Weekender put real emphasis on looking after staff properly, and the accommodation line is unusually specific:
- Transport to and from the ski resort at the start and end of the season
- **A room in a shared apartment with a communal area to relax in** — they explicitly contrast this with "a cramped studio sleeping 6 which some companies provide"
- All meals supplied while working
- **A full ski season lift pass**
- Ski and snowboard equipment
- Ski travel insurance
- Discounted bar drinks
- Competitive monthly salary, plus an end-of-season bonus and reward
**What they expect**
You must be very hardworking, work well in a team, have experience in the role you are applying for, and be prepared to muck in across all aspects of chalet life. They ask for loyal, professional and cheerful staff on hand to meet guest expectations.
The company is candid that hours can be demanding and long, balanced against plenty of time on the mountain.
**Eligibility — the post-Brexit gate**
Ski Weekender state it plainly: since 1 January 2021, all team members require an **EU passport or the right to work in France via the appropriate working visa**.
That places them alongside Consensio and Chilly Powder rather than Skiworld, which guides applicants through the permit process, or VIP SKI, which obtains the work authorisation on the applicant's behalf. Worth comparing across operators before applying.
**How to apply**
Applications and questions go by email to Ski Weekender directly, or by phone on +44 (0) 845 557 5983, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm. Apply in good time to be considered for the coming season.
**A summer note**
Ski Weekender is one of three sister brands. The same company runs **Walk Weekender** and **Bike Weekender**, offering walking and cycling short breaks in France through the summer months — so year-round work with the same operator may be possible.
