Chalet Host (Ultimate Service) – Winter 2026/27
Consensio Chalets
Description
Consensio is a small, owner-run luxury chalet operator working across Val d'Isère, Méribel and Courchevel in the French Alps. It runs a portfolio of ultimate catered chalets, relaxed catered chalets and serviced apartments, and has a strongly returning seasonal team, with many staff progressing into senior, management and head office roles.
**Applications for the 2026/27 winter season are open now.** Training courses start in November and the chalets close in April.
**What Consensio provides**
- Accommodation in resort. Chalet Manager and Chauffeur roles come with your own bedroom and facilities; host and assistant roles are shared
- Meals provided while working
- **Two days off per week**
- Full area ski pass reimbursement, or a gym pass
- Competitive base salary with paid overtime
- End-of-season performance-based bonus
- Holiday pay, paid at the end of your contract
- Travel and transfer contribution if joining from another location, including an airport transfer to resort
- Uniform outdoor jacket
- HR and management support throughout the season
- Training and leadership development, with real career progression
**How the season is structured**
Before you arrive, Consensio sends a staff handbook, role details, uniform guidelines and training materials, plus online training in fire safety, first aid and food safety where relevant.
Once in resort and before guests arrive, every team member does practical hands-on training. Depending on role that covers property set-up, housekeeping standards, guest service, coffee training, cocktail and wine service, kitchen support or breakfast training. Driver roles add road familiarisation and external winter driving training.
At the end of the season the HR team meets with you to discuss your experience and next steps, whether that is returning, progressing internally, or moving elsewhere in hospitality.
**Things worth knowing before you apply**
- **You must be eligible to work in France on a French contract.** This means an EU passport or a French Carte de Sejour. Consensio states plainly that following the UK's withdrawal from the EU it can **no longer accept applicants holding a UK passport**. This is the single biggest eligibility gate on the role
- A full, valid driving licence held for at least two years is required for all employees, since you may cover a chauffeur shift or run errands. Winter driving training is provided and passing it is a condition of the role
- English is the common working language across the properties. French helps but is only essential where a job description says so
- **Couples and friends can apply together.** Consensio will arrange shared accommodation and, if preferred, place you in the same property
- Dogs are sometimes possible, but usually only in roles that come with your own apartment
- Part-season applicants are still worth considering — mention it in your application, as short-term team members are sometimes needed
- You can request a preferred resort, discussed at interview. Applying early improves your chances of getting your first choice
- Holiday during the season cannot be guaranteed given how busy the winter is
- Consensio encourages travelling to France by train where possible
**Interview process**
If your CV is shortlisted, the team contacts you to discuss next steps. A first interview happens over video call, followed a few days later by a second with someone from the operations team. You will hear back within a few days of the second interview either way, and Consensio provides feedback even to unsuccessful candidates.
**How to apply**
Applications go through Consensio's own applicant tracking system. You complete a short application form and upload your CV.
