Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured IGCSE English as a Foreign Language lessons. Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Build academic vocabulary, grammar, accuracy and fluency. Prepare students effectively for Cambridge IGCSE English as a Foreign Language examinations. Use assessment and feedback to identify individual needs and support progress. Help students develop the confidence to use English across their wider academic studies. Contribute to the academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the school.
Degree in English Literature or a closely related field. Recognised teaching qualification, licence or certification such as UK QTS or PGCE, or an equivalent US, Canadian or Australian teaching credential. At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience, including EFL or EAL at secondary level. Experience preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE English as a Foreign Language or a comparable examination curriculum. Strong understanding of second-language acquisition and academic English development. Experience in an international, bilingual, British or comparable secondary school environment. Able to meet Chinese work-permit requirements. Able to join the school as soon as possible.
