Platform Engineer, Managed Postgres (Supabase, Remote: Global)

Design and implement distributed services and APIs that power the Supabase platform. Lead projects that improve scalability, reliability and cost efficiency. Build data-intensive workflows, background jobs and event-driven pipelines. Own service SLIs and SLOs and join incident response and post-incident reviews. Improve observability with metrics, logging, tracing and profiling. Contribute to CI/CD and release processes. Partner with product teams and write clear design documents, RFCs and tests.

Experience designing and operating distributed systems, with strong foundations in consistency, fault tolerance, partitioning and consensus. Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Go, ideally 5+ years building production services. Comfort with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and container orchestration. Familiarity with multi-tenant architectures, API design and data modelling. Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security best practices. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi preferred; Terraform or CDK fine). Comfortable with on-call rotations. Nice to have: Postgres internals, logical replication or CDC, service meshes, performance engineering, open source contributions.
