Software Engineering
Nordeus
Nordeus is a Belgrade-based mobile games studio behind Top Eleven and Golf Rival, games played by millions of people worldwide. We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design and evolve the reliable, high-performance services that power Golf Rival's live player community.
In this role you will own features end to end, from initial design through deployment and ongoing operation, rather than handing work off at the implementation stage. A meaningful part of the job is solving genuine performance and reliability challenges at scale, since Golf Rival's backend has to hold up under real concurrent load from a large, global player base. You will work cross-functionally with other backend engineers, client engineers, data scientists, product managers, and game designers, which means the role is as much about clear communication and judgment calls as it is about writing code.
We are looking for someone with 5 or more years of software engineering experience, ideally with a background in server application development, and strong experience in at least one general-purpose language such as Java, C#, C/C++, Python, or Go. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is expected, along with solid SQL knowledge, PostgreSQL experience preferred. Beyond the technical requirements, Nordeus is looking for a self-motivated learner who is genuinely interested in games, not just backend engineering in the abstract. Experience with Spring or Spring Boot, a major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure), or modern AI-assisted development tools is a plus but not required.
The role is based in Belgrade on a hybrid basis. Nordeus has a track record of hiring internationally and describes its approach to relocation on its own careers page as a "fully covered customized relocation plan," having successfully onboarded employees from multiple countries in past hiring cycles; this individual job posting itself does not restate that language, so candidates should confirm specifics directly with Nordeus during the process, but the company's public commitment to covering relocation for international hires is well documented. Benefits include provided meals, gym and sports activities, premium medical insurance, flexible hours, an unlimited vacation policy, paid parental leave, and an employee stock purchase plan.
If you want to build backend systems for games played by millions of people, with a company that has a real track record of relocating engineers internationally to Belgrade, this is a strong fit. Apply directly through Nordeus's official careers page.
