Staff/Lead Software Engineer, Back End (Bangkok based, Relocation Provided)

Agoda, the Bangkok-headquartered online travel booking platform (part of Booking Holdings), is hiring a Staff/Lead Software Engineer, Back End for its Bangkok HQ, with full relocation and visa sponsorship for international hires.

You will lead product feature development, experiments, and complex systems, shape architecture decisions and mentor distributed engineering teams, improve system architecture and drive software design practices, collaborate across backend, client-side, and infrastructure teams, and write high-quality, maintainable code while supporting peer development.

Requirements: 10+ years building performance-critical applications on the JVM stack (Java, Scala, or Kotlin), a proven track record leading projects and engineering teams with full system ownership, hands-on experience with SQL, Cassandra, or Hadoop, strong algorithms/data structures/architecture skills, and fluent written and verbal English.

Work arrangement is hybrid: 2 days remote, 3 days in-office at Agoda's Bangkok headquarters.
