Consulting
Counterpart
Counterpart is the first Agentic Insurance platform, combining insurance expertise with AI to deliver management and professional liability solutions. Recognised by CB Insights as a 2025 Top 50 Insurtech, and named to Business Insurance's 2025 Best Places to Work list.
THE ROLE
You would run the day-to-day financial operations within Agentic Finance: bordereau and premium reconciliation, carrier and claims payments, premium accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense management, financial reporting, audit administration and tax filings.
You own accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense management and vendor administration outright, and support the Controller on bordereau, carrier payment operations, audit administration and financial reporting, with a path to owning bordereau and carrier payment operations as those processes stabilise. You report to the Controller.
An explicit part of the role is building and using AI agents to automate premium receivable cash application, bordereau assembly, premium reconciliation and claims payment processing, then feeding clean structured data into Counterpart's Intelligence System.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Own premium accounts receivable end to end, from invoicing and cash application through collections. Own execution of accounts payable automation and card-spend policy enforcement. Own vendor records, W-9 collection and vendor relationships. Prepare bordereau assembly and premium reconciliation across carrier and reinsurance relationships. Maintain the carrier payment calendar and prepare monthly loss fund reporting. Support the annual audit, carrier audit requests and R&D tax credit administration. Prepare the recurring carrier partner reporting package for monthly and quarterly review.
WHAT YOU NEED
5 to 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally at a high-growth company; insurance, insurtech or fintech experience is a plus but not required. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Working knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting principles, and comfort in a regulated, multi-entity insurance business. Hands-on experience with an accounting system such as QuickBooks, NetSuite or Sage Intacct, and an AP or spend platform such as Ramp or Bill.com. A demonstrated track record of using AI tools or agents to redesign reconciliations, payment processing and routine bookkeeping.
COMPENSATION
Estimated pay range of $130,000 to $150,000, based on market data, location, internal equity and experience.
BENEFITS
Fully remote workplace with no office, unlimited vacation, stock options, health, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), parental leave, home office allowance, wellness stipend, book stipend, professional development reimbursement, no working birthdays, and charitable contribution matching.
LOCATION
The listing is tagged Remote with no country named in the job description. However, the application form asks specifically "Are you eligible to work legally in the US?" with no equivalent question for other countries, and compensation is quoted purely in USD with 401(k) as a benefit. Filed here as United States remote on that basis.
Counterpart's own careers page separately lists roles open across Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Peru, so the company does hire in Latin America for some positions, but this specific listing appears scoped to the US.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
The application asks what AI tools you use in your work and how you use them, so have a genuine answer ready rather than a generic one.
