Circle
Circle is the community platform used by creators, coaches, and businesses to run memberships, courses, and discussions in one place instead of scattering their audience across social platforms. We are hiring a Lead Product Designer to take end-to-end design ownership of a major product area, identifying opportunities and shaping direction rather than simply executing pre-defined briefs.
In this role you will design intricate flows that serve multiple user types at once, balancing the needs of community owners, members, and admins without making the product feel compromised for any of them. You will rapidly prototype using AI-assisted tools and code-generation workflows, which reflects how Circle's product team actually works day to day, rather than treating those tools as a novelty. Beyond execution, you will influence product strategy directly, contributing to roadmap decisions and helping the team decide not just how something should look but whether it should exist at all.
You will also be responsible for establishing craft standards for interaction design and visual quality across your product area, collaborating closely with engineering to make sure what ships matches the design intent, and mentoring other designers to raise the bar across the broader team. This is a senior, largely autonomous role: you will be expected to set direction, make tradeoffs, and own outcomes rather than wait for detailed direction from above.
We are looking for someone with 5 to 7 or more years of product design experience who can demonstrate systems-level thinking and has shipped genuine zero-to-one work, not just iterations on an existing product. Your portfolio should show complex, multi-user flows and evidence that you have shaped product direction in past roles, not only visual polish. Strong prototyping skills are important, ideally including comfort with AI-assisted tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, v0, or Lovable, alongside solid Figma proficiency. Because Circle is a fully remote, async-first company, exceptional written and verbal communication is essential, and the role requires CEFR C2 or ILR Level 5 English proficiency.
Circle is a fully remote company with no geographic restriction on this role, and compensation is benchmarked to US rates regardless of where you are based. The team gets together in person for biannual global company retreats, and otherwise works asynchronously across time zones. Benefits include equity with refresh grants, 35 paid days off annually, and health, wellness, and professional development support.
If you want a senior design role with real strategic input, not just a Figma-execution seat, and you are comfortable working async across time zones with occasional in-person retreats, this is a strong fit. Apply directly through Circle's official careers page with your portfolio and resume.
