Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Money Movement (Remote)

Design, build and operate the backend APIs and services that support blockchain connectivity for Phantom Cash, balancing reliability, quality and speed of delivery. Own REST API design including versioning, authentication and rate limiting. Build event-driven services on Node.js and NestJS at scale and apply distributed systems fundamentals to keep money movement correct and resilient. Communicate clearly across product, frontend and infrastructure teams, and raise the engineering bar through code review and mentorship of other engineers.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. A pragmatic mindset that prioritises user impact over theoretical perfection. Proven proficiency with Node.js and NestJS at scale and with event-driven architecture. Deep REST API expertise, including versioning, authentication and rate limiting. Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills. Nice to have: Kubernetes and AWS operations experience, a crypto or fintech background (exchanges, wallets, payment systems), Solana or EVM blockchain integration experience, understanding of smart contract protocols, and experience at a mature engineering organisation with a high bar.
