Senior Product Design Engineer (Cal.com, Fully Remote Worldwide, Async, Equal Pay Regardless of Location)

Own core product surfaces including booking flows, scheduling primitives and enterprise features from concept to production. Build and test working prototypes using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or v0. Hand off production-ready components that product engineers can use without modification. Design, build and maintain custom components rather than relying on third-party libraries. Continuously improve the coss ui component library by identifying gaps and refining primitives. Apply motion design with intentionality and restraint. Treat accessibility standards as non-negotiable throughout design and implementation. Attend to details in empty states, error messaging and loading behavior. Collaborate openly with the Head of Product and the Design Engineer, documenting thinking asynchronously through written explanations and prototypes.

Strong product design foundation with evolved design engineering expertise. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, TypeScript and React. Deep expertise composing headless primitives such as Base UI or Radix. Strong motion design principles and sound judgment about when to animate. Daily experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or v0. Knowledge of web standards and native browser capabilities. Real design systems experience building and maintaining, not just consuming. Practical WCAG and ARIA accessibility knowledge. Understanding of system architecture including APIs, data models and state constraints. Collaborative approach with strong written communication and a high-trust, high-autonomy mindset suited to async work. Bonus: open-source contributions or public side projects, familiarity with scheduling systems or timezone and recurrence complexity, and knowledge of locale-aware APIs such as Intl.DateTimeFormat.
