Intermediate Backend Engineer, EMEA

Ship backend features from requirements through production and follow-up. Design, implement and test features using Ruby on Rails, Go or comparable languages. Write secure, maintainable and performant code. Develop and maintain APIs, background jobs, integrations and data models. Conduct code reviews focused on correctness, security and performance. Investigate deployment failures and identify and pay down technical debt. Incorporate AI tools into everyday engineering work.

Professional backend development experience on production applications. Strong fundamentals in programming, APIs, databases, testing and debugging. Ability to independently own features while seeking guidance when appropriate. Sound judgment on security, reliability and performance. Practical experience with AI coding tools. Strong written communication for remote, asynchronous collaboration. Experience with Go services, Kubernetes, CI/CD, PostgreSQL, observability tooling or modular architecture is helpful.
