Darlings Fruit
Darlings Fruit, a small family-owned Central Otago grower, needs one more thinner to join its team from Monday 12 October. Thinners remove excess fruitlets from stonefruit and apple trees on ladders so the remaining fruit grows larger. The work is repetitive and physically demanding, with extreme temperatures possible, so fitness and comfort with heights are essential. Hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Saturday through to 19 December, and pay starts at NZD 23.95 per hour. Affordable accommodation is available on the orchard near Roxburgh, with rooms or space for travellers in a van. The listing states that applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or resident, or hold a current working holiday visa for the duration of the work period. Applicants register interest on the listing and receive an application form by email. Own transport is needed.
