Define the forward technical direction for CI, CD, Plan and source code experiences in line with architectural initiatives. Partner with the VP of Engineering on planning and technical investment priorities. Translate company-wide productivity, quality and AI-native engineering goals into concrete roadmaps. Establish measurable service standards for availability, latency, pipeline success rates and defect escape. Identify and prioritize systemic technical risks such as single points of failure and scaling limits. Lead complex design decisions hands-on through code, prototypes and proofs of concept. Design migration strategies that let large systems evolve without disrupting users. Integrate AI platform capabilities into Core DevOps. Review critical designs and merge requests, mentor engineers, join the incident on-call rotation and take part in technical hiring.
10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in Staff, Principal or equivalent senior technical leadership roles. Deep expertise in AI/ML systems including large language models and agentic frameworks at production scale. Strong background in scalable, multi-tenant distributed systems with fault tolerance and observability. Experience designing human-in-the-loop controls and responsible AI safety guardrails. Demonstrated mentoring of senior engineers across multiple teams. Excellent written and asynchronous communication skills for fully remote work.
