Software Engineering
Circle
Circle is the community platform used by creators, coaches, and businesses to run memberships, courses, and discussions in one place. Circle Discover is the marketplace layer that helps members find and purchase communities, and we are hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to build the purchasing experiences that power it.
In this role you will build and iterate on the purchasing flows within Circle Discover, running A/B tests and experiments to validate changes that boost user acquisition and conversion. You will work across a Next.js frontend and a Ruby on Rails backend, touching both sides of the stack rather than staying confined to one layer, and you will contribute to the search and recommendation data pipelines that help members find the right communities to join. Beyond feature work, you will help improve overall codebase quality and architecture, and collaborate directly with leadership, design, and other cross-functional teams to shape how Discover evolves.
This is a senior, high-ownership role that suits someone who has worked on complex, high-scale applications before, ideally handling 100,000-plus requests per minute or databases in the 100GB-plus range, and who is comfortable operating without a lot of hand-holding. We are looking for at least 5 years of full-stack engineering experience, strong proficiency across Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Ruby on Rails, and MySQL or PostgreSQL, and genuinely strong frontend skills rather than backend-only experience. Prior experience on a creator platform or marketplace, hands-on A/B testing and experimentation work, or experience with search, recommendation, and personalization systems are all strong pluses, as is production Next.js experience at real scale.
Because Circle is a fully remote, globally distributed team of 200+ people across more than 30 countries, strong written and verbal communication is essential, and the role requires CEFR C2 or ILR Level 5 English proficiency. Compensation is US-benchmarked regardless of location, in the $130,000 to $140,000 range, and the role comes with 35 days of paid time off, equity with refresh grants, and twice-yearly in-person global company retreats.
If you want to work full-stack on a real marketplace product used by creators worldwide, with genuine autonomy and no geographic restriction on where you are based, this is a strong fit. Apply directly through Circle's official careers page.
