Alpaca — the brokerage infrastructure company powering execution and custody for stocks, ETFs, options, crypto, and fixed income for hundreds of financial institutions across 40 countries, with $320M+ raised and a globally distributed team of 380+ spanning the USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Brazil, the UK, and beyond — is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to improve automated and manual testing infrastructure across the Platform Team, working fully remotely from anywhere in the world. You'll develop comprehensive testing strategies for Alpaca's API surface, improve developer experience by standardising tooling and infrastructure, coordinate with product teams to improve test coverage and reliability, and design and execute load, stress, and scalability tests for a platform that processes billions of dollars of trades. The stack includes Go, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Build, and microservices architecture. The role requires 5+ years of SDET or senior QA experience, at least 1 year of Go, and production-level Kubernetes experience.
