Engineering Manager

Description

Akuity — founded by the original creators of Argo CD, the GitOps standard trusted by Intuit, BlackRock, Tesla, Major League Baseball, and Peloton that powers application delivery for 70% of Kubernetes production users worldwide — is hiring an Engineering Manager to own the operational rhythm of its 55-person engineering organization, working fully remotely from the US or Europe. This is an execution-and-accountability role: you'll ensure development cycles are planned, tracked, and completed cleanly; nothing gets dropped; engineers stay unblocked; and bugs and customer issues get the right attention at the right time. You'll run cycle kickoffs, retros, and 1:1s; maintain GitHub project boards and milestones; own the inbound triage queue; provide coaching and mentorship to engineers; support hiring from screening through to 30-60-90 onboarding plans; and keep a clear, current picture of everything in flight. The role has a natural growth path into hiring ownership, SDLC and toolchain stewardship, compliance operations, and broader operational leadership as the company scales. Requires 8+ years in software engineering with 2+ years managing a team, solid Kubernetes experience, and Go reading and reviewing capability. The company actively encourages staying close to the code when management duties allow.
