Release Engineer

Description

Supabase — the open-source Postgres development platform born remote with ~400 team members across 60+ countries, $1B+ raised including a $500M Series F, and no offices anywhere in the world — is hiring a Release Engineer (SRE) to join the Release Engineering team (part of EngOps), working fully from anywhere globally. This is a production-operations role with an SRE mindset: you will treat deployment pipelines, pre-production signal, and the control plane itself as production systems — with SLOs, error budgets, and on-call ownership — making deploys safe, observable, and recoverable at scale. You'll own the reliability of Supabase's deployment and release systems against clear SLOs; turn pre-production into a trustworthy signal by standardising and instrumenting fragmented deployment workflows; drive disaster-recovery readiness; build health and SLO monitoring for critical user flows using synthetic testing; reduce MTTD and MTTR for deploy-related incidents; lead blameless postmortems; and improve deployment observability and auditability. Requires 5+ years in SRE, production operations, platform engineering, or release engineering, with production on-call experience, fluency in SLOs/error budgets/DORA metrics, observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana), AWS, IaC (Pulumi/Terraform), and Kubernetes.
