Graduate Software Engineer – Open Source & Linux

Description

Canonical is the company behind Ubuntu, the world's most widely used open source OS, with 1,200+ colleagues across 75+ countries and almost no office-based roles. They are hiring 2025 and 2026 Graduate Software Engineers across teams worldwide. Depending on your team, you could work on BIOS, firmware, kernel, drivers, desktop applications, containers, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, compilers, security, or packaging. Languages include Python, Golang, Rust, C/C++, JavaScript, and Bash. Teams meet 2–4 times per year in interesting global locations.

Requirements

2025 or 2026 graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Strong programming fundamentals in at least one language. Genuine interest in open source software and the Linux ecosystem. Strong written English for async collaboration.
