Supabase — the open-source Postgres development platform powering the backends of hundreds of thousands of developers at companies including OpenAI, Mozilla, and 1Password, with a globally distributed team that has never occupied a single office — is hiring Engineering Managers to lead engineering teams across the organisation. Teams span developer-facing surfaces, core backend services, Platform, Engineering Operations, and Databases, and the team match is based on background and interest. This is a people, delivery, and technical leadership role: you'll build high-trust team culture in a remote-first environment; run 1:1s, performance management, and career development for your direct reports; own the team's roadmap in Linear and its incident command function; partner with Talent Acquisition on headcount planning and hiring; manage workflow intake and cross-team triage; and surface risks and tradeoffs clearly to leadership. Supabase is a pioneering remote company now defining what engineering leadership looks like at scale — as one of the first Engineering Managers joining, you'll be shaping the role itself from day one. Five or more years of engineering depth plus three or more years managing remote, globally distributed engineering teams is required.
